PRESS RELEASE – IS YOUR EX A REAL COCKROACH?
Entomica – Sault Ste. Marie’s new, and already well-loved, interactive insectarium – is
celebrating Valentine’s Day with Cockroaches this year.
Saultites are invited to join in the fun by having one of Entomica’s Cockroaches named after
their ex-partner. Cockroaches will be on display in the Entomica Insectarium for visitors to
peruse over the Valentine’s Day Weekend, February 13th and 14th. Not to worry – it’s all in
good fun – our friendly cockroaches aren’t hurt in the naming process!
GIANT PEPPERED COCKROACHES (Archimandrita tesselata) – One of the larger cockroach
species on earth! These critters can be found in the tropical rainforests of Peru and Costa
Rica. Natural-born scavengers, our cockroaches will eat pretty much anything they come
across – including dead animals.
NAME-A-ROACH DETAILS:
$5 Fee includes you Entrance Admission to Entomica, payment accepted onsite,
anytime prior to February 14th
Names are accepted by email or telephone February 1st – 12th, 2016
Names will be displayed on the Cockroaches’ Thoracic Shields on Feb. 13th & 14th
