Sault Ste. Marie, ON (May 25, 2017) – Sault Ste. Marie will be one of 50 cities around the world to host a unique yoga event next month. On Wednesday, June 14 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., the Roberta Bondar Pavilion will be home to the Lolë White Tour On the Road. The forum is a celebration of wellness and community.
Taking place simultaneously in cities across North America and Europe, this inspiring experience brings together thousands of yogis, all dressed in white as a symbol of peace. It’s an opportunity for participants to connect mind, body and soul and to feel the power of community.
Since 2012, the Lolë White Tour has been taking place in Toronto and Montreal. Last year, the forum spread to other cities worldwide. Alysia Mitchell, owner of R.loft & R.A.M. – Fitness and Cycling Studio, is an ambassador of Lolë. Her athleisure boutique was selected to bring the event to Sault Ste. Marie.
“I am truly honoured to host this inspiring wellness event within our beautiful and active community,” said Mitchell. “To have our small northern city act as a spot on this international road tour is a great opportunity, and one whereby we can showcase the natural beauty of our city, along with our community pride. I look forward to an inspiring evening on June 14 and hope to make this an annual event for the Sault.”
For Lolë White Tour On the Road – Sault Ste. Marie, just 250 tickets are available. The cost is $19.50, which includes a yoga mat and gift bag. To register, or for other details, visit www.lolewhitetour.com/ontheroad.
With the nearest tour locations being in southern Michigan and the Greater Toronto Area, Tourism Sault Ste. Marie is supporting event organizers by marketing the forum across the region. Registration and accommodation packages are available at www.saulttourism.com/packages. “We saw the Lolë White Tour On the Road as a great opportunity to draw visitors from across Ontario and Michigan,” said Ian McMillan, Executive Director of Tourism Sault Ste. Marie, a division of the Economic Development Corporation.
ActiveSault, a municipal program that assists people of all ages and abilities in getting active and living a healthier life, is also helping to promote Lolë White Tour On the Road. “Sign up and come out for this unique event,” said Jennifer Amadio, Sport & Recreation Community Development & Partnership Coordinator for the City of Sault Ste. Marie.
