I’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the organizers, donors and bidders on Sault Buy Weekly’s ‘I Give a Hoot Auction’ last weekend. Thank you to the administrators Kelly Turner, Karen Swyers, Joanne Nadon and Anita Mitchell who found time in their busy lives to collect donations, contributed their own items and run won items to the winning bidders. Thank you ladies, for championing the Northern Hoot and thank you for understanding and believing in what I’m hoping to offer the community through the Northern Hoot platform.
To all the kind people who made donations including a homemade ham dinner, beautiful original works of art and many lovely as well as practical items –thank you. To those people who bid on the items that went up for auction –thank you. And I hope I don’t miss one name- thank you Anita Mitchell, Tawny Jane Huff, Karen Swyers, Grace Tridico, Kelly Turner, Melissa McLaren, Rachel Dooley, Elizabeth Fantham, Taryn Campbell, Beau Arefi, Dawn Perry, Lori Belisle, Mel A Dee, and Wendy Lou.
The funds earned through this auction were applied to the monthly expenses –like a car payment, phone service, groceries and a bit towards monthly rent, that need to be covered so I can continue to focus my full energy on researching, interviewing and writing stories about our community and matters in the North.
I hope to convey my gratitude for this lovely gift, the relief I felt when I was able to ‘get the bills paid’ and the warm feeling that this effort provided to me. I am truly grateful.
Sincerely,
Steffanie 🙂
